Find Out if Your Home Qualifies
The
simplest way to see if your home qualifies for a solar
power system is to contact
one of our solar consultants. We will do a site
survey and determine if your roof receives adequate
sun by looking at its direction, the roof pitch, roof
obstructions, nearby trees and other potential issues.
You can also have the solar panels mounted in your
yard if it has a better sunshine profile than your
roof.
Ideally,
you will want to have 12 months' worth of your
electric bill. This will help our consultants
determine how many panels you need to eliminate your
current electric bill, and keep you from facing any
future rate increases. As a quick rule of thumb, for
every 240 KWh of annual electric consumption, you need
one solar panel. A panel takes up about an area of 3
foot by 5.5 foot, or 16.5 square feet. Thus, an
average system of 30 panels would require about 500
square feet of roof space.
Remember,
your home also needs adequate equity and you
need adequate credit if you are going to use the
equity in your home to finance your solar
investment.
